A coffee morning was held in the Mayor's Parlour in Lei

Manchester 10 km Midnight Walk
President Beverley Beenham (right) along with Vice President Aruna Kotecha (left), Elaine Seddon, Wendy Heyden and Phyllis Bayley walked the 10 km Manchester Midnight Walk for St Anne's Hospice, together they raised over £1000 in sponsorship.

It's A Man Thing!! Friday 17th June, 2011
St Joseph's Players performed sketches at a Theatre Supper Evening in aid of Prostate Cancer Research.
The evening was held at Leigh Masonic Hall, Ellesmere Street, Leigh. £545 was raised for our charity.
It's A Woman's World - Tuesday 8th March, 2011, 100 years of International Women's Day, Leigh & District Soroptimist in partnership with Wigan Leisure and Culture Trust organised an event at Leigh Sports Village to raise funds for our local and international projects. We managed to raise a fantastic £1700 on the night. With a catwalk show, stalls selling cosmetics, honey products, jewellery, handbags, instant manicures, lingerie, and information on Womens Health issues, Marquee Hire, Optical Wear, Wigan Leisure and Culture Trust Active Living, National Osteoporosis Support Group, Breakthrough Breast Cancer. Around 300 people attended this very successful event to celebrate 100 years of International Women's Day and S.I. Leigh and District 'Bridged the World' with a display of Bridges all over the world linked together with bras from our bra collection. 
Last Night of the Proms Hog Roast:
In partnership with Leigh Inner Wheel Club, Rotary Club of Leigh and N.S.P.C.C. Fund Raising Committee, Leigh Soroptimists held a Last Night of the Proms Hog Roast and raised over £3800 for the N.S.P.C.C.

when we raised £862
for S.I. charities.

PRESIDENTS CHALLENGE: Throughout 2009/10 members of S.I. Leigh were challenged by the President to raise at least £15 each. This was done in a variety of imaginative ways, with the proceeds going to pay for the Kits for the Girls in Sport Competition. This has been such a successful challenge that instead of paying for one kit we awarded 3 full kits plus 2 runner up prizes.
Compassion in Action - Lowton Youth Club
Due to the outstanding success of the
Presidents Challenge we were able to
donate £300 to Compassion in Action for
their project to re-open a Youth Club for
the young people of Lowton.
A very successful event was held in November 2009,
a concert by the Houghton Weavers raised £1600 for local charities

A Spring Fair was held to Raise funds for Project SIerra a family and a future we raised over £800 and will send £600 to project SIerra and the rest will go to local charities.

Ashanti - a project supported by Rotary Club of Leigh. Ashanti is a region in Ghana where Leigh Rotary Club are working to improve the lives of the local people in a village called Bimma. Soroptimist International of Leigh and District have so far provided two toilets for the village in memory of past International President Lynn Dunning. We have now also provided a Computer along with design softwear for the new school.
