Fund Raising
A varied programme of Fund Raising events are organised throughout the year to raise money for Soroptimist International Projects and regional and local charities chosen by the President. We also have a small amount of charity funding available for people who ask for support.
This year our theme is bringing help and hope in our community, so we will support local projects in our community with a particular emphasis on helping women and children.
Afternoon Tea Murder Mystery:
A fun afternoon was held at the Rhinewood Country House Hotel, when we raised £862 for S.I. charities.
PRESIDENTS CHALLENGE: Throughout 2009/10 members of S.I. Leigh were challenged by the President to raise at least £15 each. This was done in a variety of imaginative ways, with the proceeds going to pay for the Kits for the Girls in Sport Competition. This has been such a successful challenge that instead of paying for one kit we awarded 3 full kits plus 2 runner up prizes.
